This is where the magic is… Strategy Coaching Technology is what will take a client in the worst situation, with the worst feelings, habits, relationships, etc., and change it all in ONE SESSION.

The keys to causing GLOBAL CHANGE in your clients are shared in this video:

1. Pain / Pleasure: All human behavior is merely an attempt to gain pleasure and avoid pain. More specifically, to meet (and avoid loosing) SURVIVAL NEEDS. There are four:

  • Certainty
  • Variety
  • Significance
  • Love

2. The emotions and behavior that we do habitually or as a reaction to our world come from three forces (Tony Robbins calls it the “Triad”):

  • Physiology (movement, position/posture, biochemistry)
  • Language (spoken, visual, internal/external)
  • Focus/Beliefs (philosophy, thoughts, your ‘reality’)

3. The triad creates an emotional “fuel of choice” which we use “habitually” to fulfill our survival needs. This creates a pattern that produces the four measurable results:

  • Peer Group
  • Identity
  • Focus
  • Emotion

4. There are five steps by which we can change these patterns within ourselves or our clients:

  • Diagnosis
  • Conditioning
  • Leverage
  • Peer Group
  • Empowering Alternative

Ultimately, the only reason anyone does anything, whether wonderful or destructive, it’s to meet the needs. To change someone’s life, change how they meet the needs!

Jeff

    Salma,

The videos are very high quality, and therefore they are very large files to try to stream over the internet. On a fast enough internet connection they’ll play without pause, but on a slower internet connection, they will tend to start and stop. There are several solutions you can use to get a smoothly playing video:

    1. Stream the video, but pause it for a short time to give it time to load:

    >>Press play on the video, then press pause.

    >>Wait for a while (1-2 minutes).

    >>You’ll see the time bar ‘filling up’ (the video will be loading into your computers buffer). if your browser is working, the video should have some of the content loaded by then.

    >>Then press play again, and the video should play fine.

    2. Use the download link(s) BELOW the actual video to download the video files to your computer, then play those files directly on your computer, therefore fixing any internet speed problems.

    >>Find the download link (it will be located BELOW the actual video, and say something like: “CLICK HERE (Right Click, and select ’save link as…’ to download this video”)

    >>RIGHT-CLICK on the link (a menu will spring up as a result)

    >>choose ‘Save Target as…’ (or ‘Save Link as…’) from the menu. A box will pop up that allows you to choose where to save the file on your computer.

    >>Save the file (to keep it simple, save the file to your desktop, thus making it easy to find after downloading)

    >>It will take a little while to download, but then you’ll have the video playing perfectly on your computer (or if you then want to slip the video on to your IPOD, then you can do that too)

  7. Thank you. This video was very helpful for understanding the 4 survival needs and also how they relate to the triad. I watched it 3 times and get more out of it each time i watch it.. I am starting to see my own patterns of behaving and relating through the combination of these two methods. I am now trying to understand how the 5 steps can create change. I am looking forward to the Mast Coach University coming up later this month.

  8. I was wondering if we could reframe ‘the 4 survival needs’ into ‘the 4 Thrival needs. It seems like when we get all 4 needs met we can Thrive, where as if people are lacking in one or more of these areas, people end up acting out in ways that don’t ultimately meet the needs of themselves or others.

You could, but calling these ‘survival’ needs reminds us that they are NOT OPTIONAL.

Thriving is an option… SURVIVING isn’t an option… you MUST survive.

As such, these needs are drives that you have NO CHOICE but to follow… you MUST meet them some way some how with some thing. By that definition, they are much more SURVIVAL needs rather than THRIVAL needs.

They DO lay a great foundation to THRIVE, but just meeting your 4 survival needs doesn’t in any way guarantee that you’ll thrive.

    Hi Jeff!
Thank you for the wonderful video! Is there a chance we can download the slides somewhere as they would be very helpful in working with them?
    Have a great day,

Slides aren’t available for this video, but feel free to download the video itself to take offline. Also, taking notes for yourself is a great way to internalize the models and commit them to memory.
